Discovery Program

The Discovery program is an intervention-based approach to assist students who are exhibiting minor academic challenges as indicated by a psychological evaluation. The purpose of the program is to assist them in ways that will help them keep pace with the school’s curriculum based on their individual needs, while still maintaining the same level of expectation and rigor for all students. If eligible, students and parents meet with our Discovery teachers to develop a plan that is unique to each student and may incorporate strategies for study, organization, and test-taking, along with academic assistance.

The Discovery program is not a special education program but does assist various types of learners so that they are able to reach their full potential in every learning environment. The ultimate goal of the program is to assist students to confidently and consistently see success in the general classroom and to develop life skills that will serve them beyond the classroom. Please note, this program is not available for potential new students enrolling beyond fifth grade.
