Eastside serves students from Kindergarten through 9th grade, providing a rigorous academic environment while also developing Christian values and character to ensure our graduates are set up for success when they leave Eastside. Our traditional curriculum is augmented with academic support programs such as Reaching Outstanding Academic Results (R.O.A.R.) and Discovery which assist those students with slight academic challenges.
Standardized and adaptive assessments are an integral part of Eastside’s curricular plan. The IOWA standardized assessment is given to 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades each year. Our 8th grade students take the PSAT 8/9 in the fall to align with the magnet school application process. High school students will take the Pre-ACT in 9th grade, the PSAT in 10th grade, and will be given the option to take the PSAT in 11th grade. They will also take the SAT and/or ACT in their 11th and 12th grade years. Additionally, Eastside conducts benchmark testing three times a year, assessing students in math and reading and ensuring they are academically aligned with Eastside’s educational expectations.
Beyond strong academics, our low student-to-teacher ratio allows the opportunity for our teachers to get to know students and their families on a personal basis. Providing a warm family atmosphere is a high priority at Eastside Christian School.
