Discover Pre-First Grade

A bridge year of learning, growth, and rich experiences

Building a strong foundation in the early years of Lower School education is critical to a student’s long-term success. The pre-first grade program is designed as an enrichment year focused on academic, social, and emotional growth for students prior to enrolling in first grade.

Our team would be happy to discuss the details of the pre-first classroom and any questions you may have.

Is pre-first right for my child?

The pre-first program is designed for students who would benefit from an extra year of work on foundational skills prior to facing the structure of first grade. Students who enroll in pre-first benefit from the opportunity to further hone their social and emotional skills while reinforcing their academic foundation.

Is pre-first a repeat of kindergarten?

No, pre-first is a completely separate curriculum from kindergarten. The pre-first classroom is a highly-interactive and collaborative environment that enables students to go deeper into themes and projects. New concepts are learned while core academics are reinforced.

Can I speak to another family who has enrolled in pre-first?

Yes, let us know if you are interested in hearing about other families’ pre-first experiences, and we’d be happy to facilitate an introduction.
