‘‘ My time at Eastside was so formative, and I have the best memories of growing up in that place surrounded by incredible teachers and community! Eastside had such a big impact on my education and my relationship with Christ from an early age. After Eastside, I graduated from GAC in 2009 and from Samford's nursing school in 2013. I've worked as a Cardiac ICU nurse at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, and will be beginning my CRNA career at Children's Hospital of Alabama after receiving my master's in Nurse Anesthesia this year. Forever grateful for Eastside Christian School! Gracie Julian '05

‘‘ Eastside prepared me for high school by teaching me to stay true to myself and my core values despite the new temptations that came with public school. I've especially used my apologetics notes from 8th grade Bible class a lot! I'm so excited about coming back to coach volleyball because this is where it started for me. We won the championship my 8th grade year, and that really sparked my love for the sport. It feels like coming back home, since I attended Eastside from preschool through 8th grade. Kaitlyn Bache '17

‘‘ I received a variety of experiences at ECS that no other school could have offered. From being on the baseball team while simultaneously performing as the lead in school musicals, Eastside allowed me to do anything and everything I desired to do. Although I never planned on serving in the military, my elementary and middle school days taught me to be flexible in any situation that may come my way (including the chance to fly in the U.S. Air Force). With the foundations of courage, kindness, and humility instilled from my teachers, I was built on the background of solid ethics that have guided me throughout my career. Connor Haseley '12

‘‘ In Mrs. Wright's 8th grade Bible class, I was taught that as a child of the King, I cannot lose! And I know this to be truth because of Romans 8:15-21. Eastside helped so much with keeping Scripture written on my heart. Dayela Lima '14

Dayela is a vocal performance major with a focus on opera at Shorter University.
‘‘ Eastside Christian School was a great first leg of my educational career and spiritual life. It was a unique environment for me to find my passions and gifts, then be equipped with how to use them going into the world. The foundations of faith I learned from Eastside continue to push me as an adult because they were the cornerstones of my relationship with God. I can also always know that there is a team of teachers from my past that continue to cheer me on and pray for me. Jacob Lanier '11

‘‘ I am a C-130H pilot in the Georgia Air National Guard. My time at Eastside provided a firm foundation, both academically and spiritually, for me to pursue my dreams of becoming a military pilot. Many of Eastside's core values are ones that are paralleled in the Air Force's core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. I believe that Eastside's dedication to similar principles equipped me with the tools I needed to be successful as a professional military aviator. As a citizen airman during a time of crisis, I am proud to serve my fellow Georgians. 1LT Chase Eriksen '03

‘‘ I decided that I wanted to be a nurse after chapel one day when I was in the 3rd grade at ECS. From then on, I continued down that path. I went to the University of Georgia, then Mercer University for my bachelor of science in nursing. I was called to work in women's health and later trained at Vanderbilt University to become a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I've been catching babies and empowering women to have the birth they want ever since! I absolutely love what I do and consider it a blessing and honor to be a part of my clients' lives. All thanks to that one chapel at Eastside! Hannah Wright Meurer '06

‘‘ Academically, Eastside positioned me to do well at Pope and have confidence in my classes. Biblically, it gave me a strong foundation of how to make good choices, even hard ones. Eastside is also where I discovered my passion for running. Helping someone else find their passion for running would be amazing, and I'm happy to share what I've learned with this great group of students. William Wright '19

‘‘ Eastside will always hold a special place in my heart. It was during a Wednesday morning chapel at Eastside that I accepted Jesus into my heart. It was at Eastside that I learned how to be a good friend, a good listener, and live with a servant heart. It was at Eastside that I had the opportunity to lead a middle school Bible study, which taught me how to be a leader. All of these qualities roll into my career today, and I'm so grateful to Eastside for giving me a strong foundation to stand on. Lindsay Meaders '08

‘‘ ECS taught me many things, including preparing me for high school, but the number one thing I learned there is how to respect your peers and bring God's light to those around you through your actions and words. Eastside will always have a place in my heart. Go Lions! Joel Dethose '16

‘‘ Eastside taught me to always do your best and the importance of always putting others before yourself. In nursing, we are caring for people at their most difficult times. They are not feeling well and sometimes are not in the best of spirits, but it is amazing how a little show of love and compassion (putting others before yourself) can change someone's whole hospital stay and help them focus on the positives and getting well! ‘‘ The academic rigor of science and math and the athletic training and encouragement I received from Coach Hawkins gave me the foundation I needed to take my competitive running to the next level. Joey Sandel '18

‘‘ I found a picture from History Day at ECS when I was Clara Barton, and another year I was Florence Nightingale. I learned so much about these wonderful pioneer nurses that I became one! I have been a registered nurse for 16 years and have worked in pediatrics, emergency, postpartum, and newborn nursery. My years at ECS taught me a godly compassion for others that makes me the nurse I am today! Abby Edwards Adamson '95
